Class work: Writing a Persuasive Essay pp. 15-25
Review Academic Language: opinion statement, intent/purpose,
audience concerns, counterargument, rebuttal, the 3R’s (relevant, reliable,
representative), CAARDS TEST, logical and emotional appeals, order of
importance (sequencing) anecdotes, loaded words, connotations (positive,
negative, neutral), tone, primary and secondary sources.
Focus: Primary and
Secondary sources and using the sources
Connect
what you read in one source to information in other sources.
Homework:

Revise Essay on Good Samaritan Law. If you need
help with revision please go to LACER (Open 3-6 daily in Library)!
